Lituanica is a great place to develop as a basketball player and most importantly as a person. The values of hard work, dedication and pride it has instilled in me from a young age are values that have stayed with me ever since I have grown out of playing at the Lituanica Athletic Club and have become a proud alum. The facility has great coaches who put great emphasis on teamwork and individual skill development to get the best out of everybody who decided to step through the gym doors at the academy. If you are looking to take your basketball skills to the next level and your character as a person, Lituanica Athletic Club is the place for you. At the Lituanica Athletic Club only the strong survive.

I started attending Lituanica Athletic Club in 3rd grade and played until my senior year, during that time I was able to learn fundamentals and develop a high basketball IQ, which helped me get recruited to play college basketball at University of Wisconsin Parkside. Also, through Lituanica I was able to attend d1 nationals twice, during which our team was able to place top 32 in the nation. One of the best things about playing for Lituanica was that I was able to work with different coaches towards further development of my game. They showed me different moves and skills that I needed to work to make it to the next level. As a result of a their help and a lot of hard work I was able to make the 20 and under National Team of Lithuania. One of the best memories I do have of Lituanica were all my summers that I spent in camps that were held in Michigan and in Lemont.

I joined the "Lituanica Athletic Club" in 8th grade after i moved to the United States from Lithuania. I played for Lituanica all the way through high school until i graduated and went on to play for University of Saint Francis. Joining Lituanica was my first time playing organized basketball and just in those short five years, i was able to learn so much in every aspect of the game. Our main coach was Stepas Zilys, who is most responsible for my success, both on the court and off the court. There were also a few other coaches ( Aurimas Matulevicius and Robertas Paulauskas) that helped us develop our basketball IQ as well as polish our skills. The greatest part about Lituanica Athletic Club is that it gives you so many unbelievable opportunities to improve your game and experience a variety of fun activities such as: playing basketball year round, traveling to tournaments or nationals anywhere in the United States, week long physical conditioning camps in Michigan, all day summer camps at the Lithuanian world center, and many more. All of that has helped me to get a scholarship at a four year university and more importantly it gave me an opportunity to build life long lasting friendships with my teammates. A kind of experience you won't find anywhere else and for that, i am very grateful and thankful for Lituanica Athletic Club.

Lituanica is one of the best basketball programs in the Chicago area. Lituanica was the beginning of my basketball career. The coaches at Lituanica do a great job of not only teaching the kids about the sport of basketball but also helping them form into great and well-respected young men and women. The program builds relationships with families that stay forever. I am thankful to the coaching staff for the great job that they have done with me throughout the years. If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t be in the position the I currently am.
